TSL celebrates women in the live events industry this International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day’s focus is ‘Accelerate Action’. This is a worldwide call to challenge discrimination, bias and stereotypes and celebrate women’s successes.

We are shining a light on the incredible women in the live events industry – from lighting designers and technicians to account managers and engineers.

More women are stepping into technical and creative roles, changing the narrative of a male dominated industry to become one that promotes equality and inclusivity. Women are leading large-scale productions, designing stunning light shows, and managing complex technical setups.

Their contributions are not just valuable—they are essential.

TSL is proud to have many skilled women working across the team that makes TSL’s cogs turn; from account managers to warehouse and on-site technicians, each of them playing a vital role in our success. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment to promote equal opportunities in the events industry.

Megan Price, Warehouse Technician, has been working for TSL for coming up to three years after previously having experience in construction – another typically male dominated industry. Megan began her career with TSL in the lighting department, then gained experience in the cable department and is now working with the rigging team where she enjoys focussing on the quality and safety of lifting equipment.

“Being a woman in an industry that is typically viewed as male-oriented is empowering and I feel that I can be a voice to say that women do have the same capabilities and strengths to undertake tasks. I really encourage any women out there who are interested in event production, and the technical side, to get involved. I would love to see more women in this field of work!”
