TSL Lighting Bids Farewell to Industry Legend Anthony ‘Turbo’ Hall as He Embarks on his Freelance Journey

TSL Lighting, one of the UK’s largest independent lighting and rigging rental companies, is excited to announce a significant shift in the career of one of its most respected and dedicated team members, Anthony ‘Turbo’ Hall. After a remarkable career spanning almost forty years at the pinnacle of event lighting design, Turbo is set to embrace a new phase as he embarks on a freelance adventure.

Turbo’s legacy in the corporate event world is nothing short of remarkable. His boundless creativity, unwavering commitment, and exceptional talent have not only been instrumental in shaping the company’s success but have also inspired and captivated the entire industry, keeping him at the forefront of event lighting design for four decades. His name has become synonymous with innovation, excellence, and a true passion for lighting design.

“We are both proud and sad to see Turbo move on to new horizons,” said Sam Tamplin, Managing Director at TSL. “His tenure with us has been marked by groundbreaking work, countless memorable projects, and an infectious energy that has touched everyone around him. We have been privileged to work alongside a true industry visionary and on a personal note, it has been an honour to have worked alongside him”

Turbo’s decision to enter the freelance arena in January 2024 represents an opportunity for him to work on some personal projects at home, whilst still remaining able to provide his extraordinary talents to a select range of clients and projects.

Turbo commented “I have hugely enjoyed my time at TSL, working with the industry’s finest people and the industry’s finest equipment. I simply need more time at home & don’t feel I can achieve that whilst still in full time employment. I will miss, very much, being part of the fantastic team at TSL, but simply need to enjoy a little more down time between events”.

“Turbo’s contributions to TSL have been invaluable, and his impact upon our industry is immeasurable,” Tamplin continues. “While his presence will be missed, we are eager to see him soar as a freelance lighting designer. We have no doubt that he will continue to leave an indelible mark on every project he touches and look forward to working alongside him in the future – he is, and always will be, a part of the TSL family.”

TSL is proud to have played a part in Turbo’s journey, and the company remains committed to fostering a culture of support, collaboration, and camaraderie within the industry. As Turbo takes this new step forward, we extend our wholehearted support and best wishes for his future success.
