TSL apprentice Max Connolly achieved a Distinction in his Level 3 Creative Industries Production Technician Apprenticeship through Access Industries, marking a fantastic start to his career in live production.
Joining TSL in November 2024, Max quickly immersed himself in the day-to-day operations of the business, gaining valuable hands-on exposure across multiple areas of the production process. Throughout his apprenticeship, he particularly enjoyed “learning every aspect of the jobs that go out on site,” giving him a wider understanding of the industry and the teamwork required to deliver projects successfully.
Like many apprentices balancing education alongside practical experience, Max found managing college work alongside a full-time job role to be one of the more challenging aspects of the course. Despite this, his efforts clearly paid off with the highest possible grade being achieved!.
Speaking about receiving his Distinction, Max said he was “over the moon” and “very happy with the result.”
During his time at TSL, Max enjoyed working alongside experienced members of the team, learning from their knowledge and expertise saying, “it has been great meeting new people, hearing their stories and sharing their wisdom, making TSL a great place to work.”
TSL played an important role throughout Max’s course, providing the resources and support needed to help him succeed. “They gave me everything I’ve needed and more” he said.
One of Max’s proudest achievements from the course has been being able to bring together everything he has learned and apply it in a real working environment. Looking ahead, Max is keen to spend more time out on site with the production technician team and continue building his expertise.
Max would strongly recommend an apprenticeship at TSL to others considering a future in live events.
