IT and Software Manager

Based in our Basingstoke office and working as part of the operations team, we are looking for an IT and Software Manager to take overall responsibility for the IT systems of TSL.

Reporting Line Manager: Head of Operations

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the IT systems of TSL including hardware, software, servers, and all devices.
  • Take direction from the Managing Director for the vision and approach for IT at TSL
  • Help shape the vision and direction of the IT department at TSL
  • Actively look for opportunities to improve the company’s processes by using IT to assist and automate tasks
  • Manage all company software subscriptions and licenses
  • Manage internet connectivity
  • Work with the company’s Hiretrack system, managing backups, maintenance, and updates.
  • Analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using IT.
  • Manage the company’s communication systems, including the 3CX phone system.
  • Responsible for H&S in server cupboard and anything else IT related

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in IT systems administration including hardware, software, servers, and devices.
  • Experience with managing internet connectivity and server room infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with managing software subscriptions and licenses.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems like 3CX administration.
  • Experience with Google Workplace administration.
  • Familiarity with HireTrack & QC Check would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of hardware ordering, installation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of clocking in/out and door entry system
  • Experience managing external IT support companies would be an advantage
  • A degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications or training in systems administration, project management, or IT service management (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CompTIA certifications).
  • Previous experience in a similar role with demonstrated success in managing IT systems and projects.
  • Analytical skills to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using IT.

  • This role involves dealing with employees and customers of the company. It is vital that you deal courteously with customers and the public at all times and represent the company and its reputation in an impeccable manner.
  • Maintain a good level of personal appearance, dress and cleanliness.
  • A generally cheerful demeanour, engaging personality and sense of humour would be a huge advantage in making a success of this role.
