Matt from Ambersphere came to see us at TSL today to show us a sneak preview of the new sharpy wash. Lighting designers Toby Hogarth, Pip Rhodes and Paul O’Brien from Brighton were also invited to take a look.

It’s normally hard to get excited about a wash light but the new sharpy wash is special.

Key features include:

• Beam mode achieving 6 degree
• 14-52 degree zoom with snoop
• CMY colour mixing as well as 10 slot colour wheel
• Equivalent 700w wash output
• Variable frost

• CTO full, half and CTB in the colour wheel
• 14kg (lighter than sharpy!)
• 323w Platinum series 15R lamp
• True UV filter
• Same pan, tilt, speed and movement as the sharpy

The genuine Fresnel capability thinking that these lights would be perfect for front and back lighting as well as doubling up as bright beam lights and mid-air effects with the beam shaper.

We could see this being used as a room wash light in a conference one day and in Wembley arena as a beam light the next and will therefore do well with rental companies and lighting designers due to its multiple use, incredible output, narrow beam and wide wash.
